  1. gutbucket says:

Because the authors didn’t get together to make sure their stories were straight.

  2. Michael K says:

Because it was written by many people over time and when compiled, it was voted on what would be inside of it.

  3. Intelek says:

Imagine, that’s not fair! Asking as question they cannot answer! (or will quickly fabricate a “biblical” retort to)

  4. samy n says:

you must understand the real meaning of the words

  5. Brown says:

The christians would say “out of context” I would say “the bible is a book of fairy tales”

  6. *wonders how many ‘your taking it out of context’ answers you will get*

  7. Stan says:

lol, here comes the “one was just metaphorical and shouldn’t be taken literally”

  8. ElusionM says:

    NOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Why? Why did you ask this question?

Now we have to go through a number of Christians with their lame excuses trying to cover up the lies and contradictions of the FairyTale.

“it’s just a number don’t take it literally”
“hey it’s just a metaphorical phrase”
“*sniffle* don’t take it out of context please”

On the other hand, The Fairytale is heavily contradicted because the editors were drunk and supported by the devil at the time they set out to edit it.

    EDIT: David said:

“I’m a saved believer in Jesus”

Should I start crying for you now?

  9. Tenby says:

THe contradiction is that you think Aquinas and Augustine are wrong but you are right. They have a positive understanding of that. You are unable to. That is a defect in you, not them.

  10. Jill says:

Bible was written many years after Jesus was killed. Also, in the time before it was written the stories could be changed by the speaker, when it was printed it could have been changed by the writer and no, that writer was not GOD.

  11. David says:

Both, with Judas. Judas hung himself, and after death, fell headlong and burst open.

Jesus prayed the will of the Father. Not every one of the Gospels has to record that.

  12. Paddy says:

The only contradiction here is the person reading the Bible. You see, if you have never been born again properly and still have sin then you cannot read the Bible as so clearly illustrated here. God locks the mysteries hidden there in away from sinners.

Become truly born again by the water and the Spirit (John 3:3-5) then God will give you the keys to heaven, and whatever you lock here on earth will be locked in heaven, and whatever you loose here on earth will be loosed in heaven.

  13. BonnieQ says:

There are NO contradictions in the Bible, IF one studies it as God instructed. Any contradictions proposed are Satan’s devices of twisting God’s Word by taking part instead of parcel (the whole). You might want to read Christ’s prayer concerning Judas in the prophetic book of Psalms.

As for the description of Judas falling headlong, etc: when a person commits suicide, the body immediately evacuates itself, quite a mess that would embarass the person if they knew before hand. When one hangs himself, the head “falls” metaphorically because it is separated from the spinal cord.

  14. dale_jdc says:

Let’s not forget that the original scriptures were written mostly in Hebrew and Latin. In 1619 King James of England had them translated into English, and who the heck knows if they got all the scriptures translated exactly correctly.

  15. Qwerty says:

Suicide, he didn’t think he was good enough to live.
    Yes, is what I believe.

  16. Crazy Pirate says:

no one was assigned to continuity…

    poor editing

  17. 1 when you are hanging you have to come down, when he fell and he was busted open and bowels gushed out.

as per the cross. Jesus was trying to show people the cross was not needed and because they do not turn from their ways and keep walking a fallen road he was sent to save them from sin. A man can be perfect as God, and I do not care how much people say God is not able to make some one righteous or he is not wise enough, God can give man the understanding if he seeks his kingdom and his righteousness to be added unto them.

    Rom 3:11

    Matt 6:33.

a person can walk Just like Jesus, but no one cares or they are happy some one was sent to die for them…or just plain blind.

  18. That question can be answered from one of its very own verses which speaks of corruption and changing of the word that was originally sent. Here is the verse:

“How can you say, “We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?” [Jeremiah 8:8]

And from that, contradictions is not the only issue. What about filth?! Surely no one believes God wrote the following verses ……and that is the tip of the iceberg!!! There is pornography, cannibalism, rape, etc all in the bible.

    Examples:-

    “But Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?” [2 Kings 18:27];

    “This woman said to me, ‘Give up your son so we may eat him today, and tomorrow we’ll eat my son.’ So we cooked my son and ate him. The next day I said to her, ‘Give up your son so we may eat him,’ but she had hidden him.” [2 Kings 6: 28-29]:%2028-29;&version=9;
    ?????????????????????????????????
    Turn to the Qur’an better.
Qur’an is pure and clean……it is unadulterated and was protected by God himself [e.g. Quran 15:9] …….and also [Qur'an 56:77-79] and [Qur'an 85:21-22]…..

    e.g.:
“We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption)” [Qur'an 15:9]

    Peace.

  19. Thomas H says:

There are no contradictions. Read from the beginning and read slower.

  20. Joel V says:

    How did Judas die?

After Judas began to regret his betrayal of Jesus, he tried to return the money to the high priests. Since it was blood money, the high priests could not accept it; Judas threw the money on the floor and left. He then went out into a potter’s field and hung himself.

A bit of time passed before Judas’ body was found, probably by the owner of the field. When his badly decomposed body was cut down, his belly ruptured and caused all of his intestines to fall out.

Upon hearing of this, the high priests chose to use the money(still technically Judas’ money since the priests could not legally accept it) to purchase the field to bury foreigners.

Concerning the account of Jesus’ prayer prior to being arrested, just because it is omitted from one source does not mean it did not happen.

  21. As for your first contradiction, if Judas did in fact give the money back to the people at the temple, and they later bought the field that he died in with his money, couldn’t it be said that he bought the field himself, though indirectly? And also, the main explanation for that is that after Judas hung himself, his body rotted enough so that when the rope broke, he did indeed fall and burst open.

As for the second, the passage in John describes a completely different situation. John doesn’t describe the part when Jesus prayed in Gethsemane, but that doesn’t make it a clear contradiction. John wrote his gospel after the other three were written, so it’s entirely possible that he left that out because it had already been described.

    You’re welcome.

  22. Only God can reveal the meaning of his word, the bible. So if we want to know the truth we must ask God to show us meanings and give us understanding or we just guess.
If I wanted to know something written is spanish, I would go to someone that speaks spanish and ask them what it means so that I may understand what it says. Or I could look at it, not understanding, then say it means this or that: not knowing spanish, I could try to make it mean whatever i wanted, though this would not be the right interpretation. Many do this with the bible, it is God’s word and only God can tell us the meaning of things and give us understanding too. Or we just guess or make something up. So go to God and ask him directly for the truth of his word.
hope this helps and take care.

  23. sylvia c says:

There is no contradiction between Matthew 26;39 and John 12:27 It shows plainly that Jesus is much troubled as He prays “Now is my soul troubled and what shall I say? Father save me from this hour but for this cause came I unto this hour.” In other words “NOt my will but thy wil be done.” three different witnesses narrated in their own three different ways but all saying the same thing, that Christ was in agony.

  24. jeshurun says:

It is said when Judas hung himself, he was up over a precipice, and fell to the ground and burst open. Jerusalem was situated on a hill top, and near many hills.

Jesus main reason for asking to have the cup removed from him had to do with the glorification of his fathers name, (Jehovah)

Jesus knew he would die, Matthew 16:21-23, yet Jesus did not want the way he died to take away glory from his father. Impalement (which some erroneously say crucifying) was the Romans way of humiliating a person. Impalement was the ultimate form of humiliation.

The money he threw into the temple was blood money, and could not be used for worship of Jehovah. The priests took the money and bought the field of blood Matthew 27:1-10

  25. Acts 1:18 did not say he bought the land first

you are applying your own meaning to the scripture

the leaders bought the field in his name. then it says he hanged himself and he fell head long and his bowls burst out.

Jesus prayed if there is any other way let this cup pass from me. never the less let your will be done.

He was asking can this be accomplished any other way if so let it happen if not let your will be done.

there are no contradictions just a misunderstanding and making assumptions of what the scriptures says.

  26. Sir; look at teh referencesyou mention again; they do not ‘contridict’ each other.

  27. ShaanPhilips says:

There is no contradictions. it is just different ways of say the same thing. I see no contradictions at all.

John 12:27 27Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Matthew 26:39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

  28. Mark says:

Because it was written by 40-50 different (but delusional) individuals over a long time, and they didn’t do much checking…

  29. The death of Judas is accounted by two different people that provide two different perspectives and offer different details. All the authors of the Bible were guided by the Holy Spirit. But think for a second: could it still be possible that when he hung himself the noose broke and he fell to the ground? No where is the bible says that couldn’t happen. Therefore, both have the possibility of being true.
